The Highway Zealots are infatuated with the Relic, an archaic Hard Drive from before the Great War. Malachi believes the Hard Drive stored the Machine God, which has now been unleashed due to its exposure to RUBI. However, no evidence of this is apparent, except for a mysterious gap in RUBI's memory banks which Malachi blames on the Machine God Itself.
Kara does think Malachi believes what he says, but she sure as hell doesn't. She believes Shadow has answers, since she was the one to break the drive's encryption before passing it to RUBI. We must continue our campaign against the Highway Zealots, but also see if we can learn what, if anything, Corpus did to corrupt RUBI.
Veng believes he can successfully wage war against the Survivors, Corpus, and the Sentinels simultaneously, Malachi believes he's unleashed the Machine God, and Kara suspects Shadow may have tampered with RUBI. This is quite the mess. For now, we continue our campaign against the Zealots and temporarily ally with Shadow and Corpus, to see what we can learn about her involvement whit the RUBI's memory lapse.
Rather than fighting a war he can not win against three Factions, Veng's plan all along was to destroy the entire Sector with a thorium bomb to protect the world from some unseen threat. Whether or not this threat is actually the "Machine God" as Malachi claims or something else entirely doesn't matter! If we don't stop Veng, the entire Sector will be destroyed... and us along with it.
Veng has been overextending his Highway Zealot troops, creating skirmishes on every front, but it's an effort he clearly can't maintain. However, it turns out that all his posturing is merely a distraction, diverting attention from his efforts to amass a staggering amount of Thorium.
His goal is simple: create a Thorium Bomb, which would have the power to destroy the entire Sector. It seems that he is willing to sacrifice his own life in the process. But why? We still don't have a definitive answer.
We must hunt down Veng and figure out where he is hiding his Thorium Bomb, since destroying it is the only way we can ensure the safety of the entire Sector. To our surprise, we recently received a message from Malachi, who claims to know where Veng is hiding, but he's asking for our help to take him out. Though it makes us uncomfortable, with the entire Sector on the line, we can't turn down our only lead.
Veng has overextended his forces in an attempt to distract us from his true goal: creating a Thorium Bomb and destroying the whole Sector. We still don't fully understand why Veng is willing to sacrifice himself and his forces, but he seems to think it's for the greater good. However, knowing his motivations is secondary to actually stopping him. With the entire Sector at stake, the Factions of the Sector must unite against Veng and his Highway Zealots.
We've done it, Commander. Veng escaped our grasp, but his forces have been greatly diminished and, more importantly the Thorium Bombs have been destroyed. The Sector is safe for now. However, with the threat of Veng so greatly reduced, the Factions no longer need to maintain their tenuous alliance...
After creating several failed prototypes, Veng and his Highway Zealots successfully created his sector-destroying Thorium Bomb. Fortunately, with the aid of Malachi and the Sentinels, we were able to destroy it before it could be fully armed.
Further, since Veng had over-extended his forces to try and distract us from the bomb's construction, his overall power is now greatly diminished. Though his threat is not exactly trivial, the Sector is no longer in grave danger.
However, with the Highway Zealot threat reduced, the primary Factions have lost their common enemy and a power vacuum has been created. And so, with the Survivors, Corpus, and Sentinels all vying for dominance again, the entire sector is falling into chaos. We must pick a side...
With the aid of Malachi and the Sentinels, we were able to destroy Veng's Thorium Bomb before it could be fully armed, thus saving the Sector. Though Veng remains a threat, his power has been greatly diminished. This has left a power vacuum, causing the Survivors, Corpus, and the Sentinels to once again vie fro dominance. And so, with the Sector devolving into chaos, it is time to choose a side.
Commander, no Faction has emerged the clear victor of this conflict. However, we have made a strong case to Veng that we might better serve the Sector together as allies, rather than enemies. Is Veng seriously considering our offer? Time will tell...
After creating several failded prototypes, Veng and his Highway Zealots successfully created his sector-destroying Thorium Bomb. We stopped it... but what if we hadn't?
